Building Mentara: the road to 2026
Most interview prep is a quiz in a trench coat. You grind problems alone, nobody challenges a hand-wavy answer, and you grade yourself far too generously. Then the real loop punishes exactly the things the quiz never measured: communication, structure, and holding up under follow-ups.
Mentara is the opposite of that. An AI interviewer that stays in character for your role and level, follows up, probes edge cases, and gets harder when you cruise – collecting evidence while you talk, so the report reflects the interview you actually had.
What ships at launch (2026)
Updated September 2026: this list now matches what the product actually does. The original version promised behavioral rounds and live scoring; the interview is a technical conversation, and scoring feeds the report rather than a live number.
- Structured technical interviews for frontend, backend and algorithms roles, from junior to senior, with follow-up questions built on your own answers. Type or answer out loud.
- Coding assessments as a separate step: an editor, runnable examples and hidden tests.
- A report after every interview, scored from evidence in your answers, with weak areas and a learning path.
- Daily challenges, streaks and achievements so practice becomes a habit, not a panic.
- Mentara for teams: company interviews, candidate assignments and a privacy-first team report.
- The web, iOS and Android.
